My husband Blaine, an immensely talented photographer himself, found Jake through Instagram and reached out about photographing Jake at their next bike night. Jake, a Harley Davidson stunt rider agreed and the two became acquaintances. About a year or two later, Blaine and I were attending another bike night to both photograph and video the event when Jake introduced us to Ashlyn. You could tell then how taken with her he was, and rightfully so. Aside from her beauty, Ashlyn is a doll and one of the sweetest humans I have ever met. They seemed perfect for each other.
The two met at The HandleBar, a Houston bar in the Heights, while Jake was attending a bachelor party and Ashlyn was there with friends. Ashlyn said that her friend was interested in one of the guys in Jake’s party, and brought Ashlyn with her to talk to him. Both shy, they didn’t talk much themselves but recalled Jake’s friends trying to convince Ashlyn that Jake was famous. The next day, Jake found Ashlyn on Instagram and their story began.
For their first date, Jake picked Ashlyn up in his white van he uses to transport his Harley. For their second date, he took her to a bike night, where he and other Harley stunt riders gathered to perform their tricks and ride.
The two became engaged during a trip to Big Bend National Park here in Texas when Jake proposed to Ashlyn. Their wedding is set for February of 2024.
Ashlyn told me that the two love to travel, spend time with their family and friends, eat yummy food, and frequent concerts.
